February Updates

Here’s a brief overview of what you can expect in February 2024 for Roca:

• Roca has started to ship the Roca Max to customers!

  • The week of February 5th marked our very first shipping of a Roca Max to a customer.

  • The Max is capable of sorting up to 3,000 cards at a time and will have all of the same great sorting capabilities of the Roca Classic.

  • If you have placed an order for a Roca Max, thank you for your patience. There are many hurdles and unexpected roadblocks when launching a new product, but rest assured that production is underway and you will be notified when your Max is ready to ship.

• Improved Pokémon recognition released for Roca Sorters!

  • Pokémon card detection has been a unique challenge for the Roca sorters due to the set symbols being present in more than 14 different locations throughout the years. Check out a few examples of the different versions of a Vulpix card (shown below). Those set symbol locations vary greatly just among these 3 versions.

  • Our vision team made some incredible strides last month, which has led to even better set detection accuracy for Pokémon cards. Small batch testing has shown improvements to accuracy by more than 20%! The ‘Beta’ banner has been removed from our UI.

  • This means better rates of detection and fewer rejections for Roca customers when sorting Pokémon cards.

• New Set Releases for Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic: The Gathering:

  • Murders at Karlov Manor (MTG) and Phantom Nightmare (YGO) both officially release on February 9th.

  • Battles of Legend: Chapter 1 (YGO) officially releases on February 23rd.

  • Customers will be notified when each set update is available for their sorter.

• Roca will be attending GAMA Expo March 3rd-7th with exciting news.

  • The Game Manufacturers Association expo will be held from March 3rd-7th in Louisville, Kentucky.

  • Roca will be set up in Booth 426. We will have our newest product for demo: the Roca Sorter Max.
